Office Game #2 ‘Timelines’

Equipment: One telephone, one internal telephone directory, one quiet office with access to Wikipedia.

  1. Scan through the internal telephone directory, picking out four digit extension numbers that relate to years of historical significance. Ensuring that none of them are bosses or people who might get you fired.
  2. Spend a short amount of time researching those years on Wikipedia, jot down some notes on important facts and figures, maybe even draft up a short ‘script’.
  3. Dial up a ‘year’, frantically announce that you are calling from the distant future to deliver a stark warning about what they are about to endure – Examples: call x1347 “THE BLACK DEATH IS COMING!” “x1666 “GET OUT OF LONDON, THERE’S GOING TO BE A HORRIBLE FIRE! WARN YOUR FRIENDS!” - Before wishing them luck, and abruptly hanging up.
